Booster Shots Against Scary COVID Virus Variants Are In the Works-Scientific American
Since the pandemic began, its viral cause—SARS-CoV-2—has been mutating. These genetic changes appeared inconsequential at first. But recently some alterations have produced variants with the unsettling potential to make the new COVID vaccines less effective, just as the shots have begun to make their way into people’s arms.
